    Re: Region D Football schedules

The Haysi Schedule is a mess (They knew that they would have problems with the number of OOS teams that they play)

I Hope BGJ or some one else from there can fill us in on any schedule update from over there

    Re: Region D Football schedules

If Coeburn keeps improving over last year as they did, I could see them going 8-2 at best, 5-5 at worst. I think they'll fall for almost sure against Clintwood & Burton, but every other game on the schedule is winnable.

Rye Cove, Castlewood, and St. Paul will be the toughest district games, IMO. However 2 of 3 of those are at home. The 4 away games on their schedule aren't major trips either: Kelly, Burton, TS, and Castlewood.

Am I the only one who thinks it's possible that Coeburn wins the Cumberland next year and makes the playoffs?

Oh I think that they have a shot BUT RC will still be the measureing stick game for them.

I am pulling for both Coeburn and GC to win there districts next season

Speaking of which, someone posted that Burrhead Nixon was hurt the other day in a baseball game. Is he back, and if so, is the injury major?
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

    Re: Region D Football schedules

I don't know. SP returns quite a few, but loses a good WR. Their line is pretty good size, but was pretty young last year.

RC won't be very big I don't believe this year. They will be young again to a degree, but should have more quickness overall this year. I don't know if their QB is going to play this year or not though. RC should be back in better shape in the coming years though. They had some good 8th graders and freshman from what I heard, and have one of the largest 7th grade classes in a long time right now.

Also, getting TJ Barnette back will be a huge help. He was leading them in rushing last year as a sophomore until a nasty injury against Haysi sidelined him the rest of the season.

I was not sure what SP had returning. Ervinton lost a ton and Castlewood if I remember correctly has alot of holes to fill as well.

When you have been as successfull as RC has been over time then the target is hard to get off your back

    Re: Region D Football schedules

Whats sad is, nobody is putting players names...

    I can see it now..

That was a great game tonight. Good player broke off a 56 yard run, a 38 yard touchdown where he reversed field twice. Other player threw the ball really well, completing 6 passes for 130 yards with tall player catching 4 of them for 2 touchdowns. Kind of was concerned when potentially hurt player got hurt on that late hit by big player who hits hard. Thankfully I think only thing hurt was (injury prevented from being discussed by HIPAA).

    I agree. It's getting sad.
